What a day! About 150 people joined us in planting out our habitat. The watered the existing plants, weeded and planted. Our friends at the Santa Monica Mountains Fund led by their fearless leader Antonio Sanchez, gave a funny, engaging and informative talk on Monarchs, the how and the whys.
Our partners at LA State Historic Park pulled out all the stops thanks to their team leaders Stephanie Campbell, Luis Rincon and Helen Boek. Even out good friend Ban Liu joined us. Kathleen Johnson, of LA River State Park Partners, brought the heat by making sure everyone had some delicious fuel for the day and something to drink. An extra special shout out goes to the incredible team at California State Parks Foundation for supplying all the incredible volunteers. To the board of ADCCLA, incredible gratitude for your trust in the vision.
And last but not least, love to all our volunteers. Without you this project would still be a thought.
We mean it when we say it takes a village. None of us can do this alone.
